  "Congregation Bible Study" - Name Change probably money motivated

  ok, just to beat this topic to death, i think the real reason for the book study amalgamation is actually the name change to congregation bible study.. there's got to be a gazillion catholic, protestant, presbyterian, anglican, methodist, united etc.

  churches that have alpha courses and bible study nights.

  and some light bulb has gone off in brooklyn so that the so-called governing body has finally caught on that they are the only religion without an actual 'bible' study meeting.

  As someone who still go's to meeting regularly and talks and associates with the other JW”s, I think the reason for the removal of the book study is that the WTS has realized that the R&F have had enough and can’t keep going to all these meetings, the Book Study is the least attended of all the meetings.

  The 5 meetings arrangement was thought of about 50 years ago a time when just the man of the house would work, and the children needed only basic school, so there was lots of spare time to go to these 5 meetings, but today both Man and Woman need to work just to make ends meet and what was considered to be basic school isn’t basic enough anymore, children need more education just to get the same job. Something’s got to give and it was the book study that gave in.

  Was the Book Study announcement supposed to be "secret"?

  before sunday's meeting i heard through a couple of jw family members that a special announcement was going to be made and that everyone was to be in attendance in order to hear it.. after the announcement, no one ever bothered to try to tell me what it was.

  not that i aksed them...i knew before they did; but it did get me thinking...are they not supposed to talk about it with inactive ones or those that didn't show up?

  i don't know how you can keep something like that quiet, but my jw contacts sure aren't saying much when usually they're just busting a gut to tell me what new stuff is happening..

  I think they kept it secret till the last moment because the WTS knows well of Forums like this one, and that NEWS gets around very quickly.

  i told quiet a few and now they think im a "now it all" haha.. even my elder friends were stunned.. i supposed when you know juicy information like this you have to have fun with it, and i did.. keep up the good work..

  I wanted to show off and be a real "know it all" hahah

  The 2 Elders confirmed that there is a letter which will be read out this Sunday 27th April, but they don’t know what it contains, so I told them.

  So I’ll either be boosting about my "special" sources of information or have egg on my face.

  I'm afraid I don't have good news for you.

  Althought you are right that the man is the head and your there parent, but since you are an 'apostate' then you are evil, from the devil, bad, no good, etc..etc.. so you are not worthy of the truth so its OK for them to lie to yuo, this is what the WTS will teach your kids. sorry.

  What i would do if I was you, depending on their age, I will reasom will them on their false theology and they will slowly see for themselves that the WTS is wrong, if you try and use force, it will make the WTS look correct about you.

  Be as a good parent as you can and they will see that you aren't evil. And even tell them that you know what and where they've being but never get angry, just nicely tell them that your disappontted with them, so if they still have a conscience they will see that they've done wrong to you.

  I would really like to know how they can justify US$ 111,000,000 when ALL the workers are volunteers and the WTS own all their property, I think they just make up these figures to give others the impression that the WTS is doing such a great and generous work, remember that lying is fully acceptable for there "kingdom" interests.

  It really depends on what exactly are they Questioning. Is it ther treatment from the elders? or the theology itself?

  Maybe she's a young girl, she'll need a different approach, as would a young boy.

  But if he/she is an adult who has made the 'truth' his/her own, and is simply questioning the WTS theology then showing them 1914 and the pyramids, that should open their eyes, show them how CT Russell got 1914 from measuring the pyramids, that's what first opened my eyes and started me on the road out, although I'm still in, thats why the Lone Ranger wears a mask. hehehe.

  think about whether they would sleep with a friend or not - i know you guys have said that before "that a guy is thinking whether or not he would sleep with a girl friend" well now i know for sure it's true.. my mate - my buddy - the guy i hang out with admitted that he would sleep with me - i was a little stunned and taken off guard - i laughed so hard.

  then he proceeded to say he thinks i have romantic feelings for him..... i mean we flirt, but on such a non serious/fun way that it means (to me at least) nothing.

  he was so serious - that made me laugh even more.. anyway i had a good laugh..

  I think it’s silly that you claim that women have the same sex drive as men, an average man masturbates every second day, an average woman masturbates every 2 weeks, and a man can have sex with no emotions at all, but a woman needs some emotions or even to feel "loved" to enjoyed sex.

  Look how many female hookers you see on the streets and how many male hookers you see on the street, its because men have a greater drive and its harder for them to control it.
